NEW DELHI: India’s pace spearhead Mohammed Shami is a doubtful starter for the five-Test tour of England, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) likely to err on the side of caution regarding the veteran seamer’s fitness. According to a report on ESPNcricinfo, Shami has not yet built up the required bowling workload to withstand the rigours of red-ball cricket, even though he has turned up fit to bowl in the ongoing IPL 2025 season for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The five-match Test series, slated to kick off on June 20 at Headingley, could now see India travel without one of its most experienced quicks. Agencies
