NEW DELHI: Decathlete Tejaswin Shankar rounded out a red-letter day for Indian athletics, breaking the third National Record of the night at the Federation Cup 2026 in Ranchi on Saturday.

The 27-year-old became the first Indian to break the 8000-point mark in the sport, eclipsing his previous record of 7826 points.

Tejaswin broke his Personal Best in four separate events — 100m, long jump, 400m and 1500m. Agencies
