GUWAHATI: Eighteen new Adarsha Vidyalayas (CBSE-affiliated English medium schools) will be functional from the academic session 2023-24 for Class I to Class VI in 18 constituencies of 11 districts of the State.
Prof Nani Gopal Mahanta, Education Adviser, Government of Assam, and chairman of the Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan, Assam, in a letter to all ministers and MLAs of the State, said that 18 new Adarsha Vidyalayas will become functional from the 2023-24 academic session.
These new Adarsha Vidyalayas are – Adarsha Vidyalaya, Ghilamara under Dhakuakhana constituency in the Lakhimpur district; Adarsha Vidyalaya Tokradia under Hajo constituency in the Kamrup district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Jamuguri under Sootea constituency in the Sonitpur district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Mahmora under the Mahmora constituency in the Charaideo district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Amguri under the Amguri constituency in the Sivasagar district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Demow under the Thowra constituency in the Sisavagar district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Jalukbari under the Jalukbari constituency in the Kamrup (metro) district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Dispur under the Dispur constituency in the Kamrup (metro) district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Chaygaon under the Chaygaon constituency in the Kamrup district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kamalpur under the Kamalpur constituency in the Kamrup district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Tezpur under the Tezpur constituency in the Sonitpur district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Gobardhana under the Sorbhog constituency in the Barpeta district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Itakhuli under Tinsukia constituency in the Tinsukia district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Cinthong under the Baithalangso in the West Karbi Anglong district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Nilip under the Bokajan constituency in the Karbi Anglong district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Lumbajong under Diphu constituency in the Karbi Anglong district; Adarsha Vidyalaya, Rongmongve under Bokajan constituency in the Karbi Anglong district; and Adarsha Vidyalaya, Lakhipur under Lakhipur constituency in Goalpara district.
The letter also mentioned that necessary communication in this regard has been made to the respective Deputy Commissioners (DCs) along with specific guidelines. The Education Adviser sought cooperation of the ministers and MLAs in creating awareness in their respective areas to encourage parents to admit their wards in the newly-created Adarsha Vidyalayas and to make the schools centres of excellence in the near future.
