GUWAHATI: The State Government is going to advertise the filling of 32,689 more vacancies in various government departments by September 10 this year. This is after the mega appointment letter distribution ceremony held on May 25 this year in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Around 45,000 appointment letters were distributed at the megadrive.
This fresh initiative of recruitment against 32,689 vacancies is part of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s poll promise of providing government jobs to one lakh youths. To this effect, the Office of the Chief Minister tweeted, “The Government of Assam, as per the commitment of HCM Dr @himantabiswa, is steadfast in its goal to provide 1 lakh govt jobs to the youth of the State. Over 32,000 posts will be advertised within September 10, 2023, to go over and beyond the promise of one lakh jobs.”
The breakup of the 32,689 posts, according to the Chief Minister’s Office, is: 4,097 in the Home Department, 5,105 in the Health and Family Welfare Department, 10,299 in the Education Department, 1,196 in the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, 7,073 grade III posts, and 4,939 grade IV posts.
