New Delhi, Nov 7: Demanding 100 percent job reservation for youths of Northeast region in 3rd and 4th grade jobs in Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Parishad (AJYCP) on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to Railway Minister Piyush Goel.

“Particularly in Assam, NF Railway has turned a blind eye to this burning problem and gone on recruiting people even in 3rd and 4th grade jobs from outside Northeast.  We request you to stop this practice immediately and change its policy for 3rd and 4th grade jobs in favour of unemployed youths from the Northeast,” the AJYCP in its memorandum said.

The Parishad also demanded for electrification of railway tracks in NE region. “Electrified railway tracks in Assam as well as other States of the Northeast remain a distant dream. We request your intervention for electrification of railway tracks as soon as possible for more efficient service to the people,” the AJYCP said.
