ITANAGAR: 'Trauma', a short film from Arunachal Pradesh, won the 'Special Mention Award' in the second season of the Reels International Film Festival (RIFF) held at Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

The short film is directed and produced by Topan Rimo Matam, who is the founder-cum-CEO of Spark Film Production. The award function was held on February 27.Trauma was among 1,200 films to be screened at the festival. More than 46 countries took part in the film festival. Trauma has also won the 2nd Runner-up in the 'Best Student Project Short Film Award' category in the 'Ideal International Film Festival' held in Sillod, Maharashtra on December 30, 2021. Rimo Matam belongs to Fengche village in East Kameng District. He has also won several awards in short film competition at State, national and international level. He did his Master's degree (M.Com) and Masters in Mass Communication from Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh.

1. Reels International Film Festival (RIFF)

Rolling Reels International Film Festival (RRIFF) is a non-profit, student-run organization established in 2015. Presented by Festember, the biggest cultural festival of South India, RRIFF is a venture aimed at establishing a platform for young filmmakers to interact and learn from the veterans in this field.

Event Structure:

The participants would be given a time period of about 2 months to send in their entries after which the international and Indian short films would be filtered first by a preliminary panel of judges under separate categories. The shortlisted movies are then screened on the day of the Festival which are judged by an A-list jury comprising of maestros of the film industry. Aside from the event, RRIFF also hosts extravagant workshops and a panel discussion on a topic that concerns the industry.

Directed by Hesam Dehghani. With Zohreh Naeimi, Alireza Mehran. A young girl takes revenge on the man who just brutally raped her in the street.
