GUWAHATI: In continuation of the order issued on March 22, 2025, the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) Division II today suspended the affiliation/permission of seven more private institutions on the charge of breaking the seal of packets of question papers before the scheduled date and time of the HS first-year examination. On March 22, the board suspended the affiliations of 15 private institutions for breaking the seal of packets of mathematics question papers before the scheduled date and time of examination.
The Board also appealed to the Department of School Education to take penal action against three government/provincialised institutions on similar charges on March 22.
The institutions whose affiliations have been suspended today and the charges against them are – (i) Resolution Academy, Gogmukh, in the Dhemaji district, broke the sealed packets of education question papers; (ii) Dhemaji Girls’ Sr. Sec. School broke the seal of the sociology question paper packet; (iii) Bordoloni Sr. Sec. School in the Dhemaji district broke the sealed packets of education question papers; (iv) Somkong Sr. Sec. School, Simen Chapori, in the Dhemaji district, broke the seals of three question paper packets – Advanced Assamese, Logic & Philosophy, and Alternative English; (v) Brookfield Sr. Sec. School in the Goalpara district broke the sealed packets of mathematics question papers; (vi) Guwahati Night Sr. Secondary School, Ulubari, in the Kamrup (M) district, broke the seal packets of the education question paper, and (vii) Kalinath Kachari Doley Sr. Secondary School, Kangkan Chapori, in the Lakhimpur district, against which evidence of question paper leakage was found.
In addition, two institutions – NCD Sr. Sec. School, Gogamukh and Suvidya REM HS School, Gogamukh – whose permission/ affiliation was suspended earlier, have again been found indulging in breaking of seals of question papers unauthorizely for several subjects.
Hence, the affiliation/permission of these seven private institutions has been suspended with immediate effect. During the suspension period the institutions shall not be allowed to take admission of students in Class XI for academic session 2025-26.
However, students studying in Class XI and appearing in the HS 1 Year Examination 2025 will continue their study in their respective suspended institutions.
