TAMULPUR: In a tragic incident, a 13-year-old boy lost his life and two others sustained injuries following the explosion of a suspected mortar in Bogajuli, Dholpara, located in the Tamulpur district under the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). According to local sources, the explosion occurred after two young boys discovered a suspicious object near a stream. Unaware of the danger, they brought the object home. Shortly afterward, it exploded, leading to a fatal outcome. The deceased has been identified as Ima Boro, aged 13, who died on the spot due to the impact of the blast.

The two injured individuals have been identified as Mohit Basumatary, aged 10, and Nijwra Ramchiary, aged 35. Both victims were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. Their conditions are reported to be stable.

Police officials promptly arrived at the scene following the explosion and have launched an investigation to determine the exact nature of the device and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
