Assam: CM Ensures Safe Return of AU Professor Stranded in Srinagar

GUWAHATI: The Office of the Chief Minister (CMO), Assam, talked to Assam University’s (AU) professor Debashish Bhattacharya, who witnessed the Pahalgam massacre on April 22 in Kashmir and is today stranded in Srinagar.

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “The return of the entire family of Prof. Bhattacharya is being arranged on priority, and the state government is in touch with the Government of India to bring the family back to Assam at the earliest.”

Earlier, the Chief Minister said, “I have full faith that Bharat will hunt down each and every one of those cowards responsible for the dastardly attack in Pahalgam. The entire nation stands firmly with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. This nefarious attack will be avenged, and the perpetrators will not be spared. The images of the incident are heartbreaking and have shaken the conscience of the nation.”  The Chief Minister further said, “India will never forget and never forgive. Those who live within our country and praise enemy nations are the biggest enemies of the country.”
