Guwahati: The Assam government on Monday announced the appointment of new Vice Chancellors for seven newly upgraded state universities across the state. Education Minister Ranoj Pegu took to his X handle to announce the appointment of new VCs for the universities. Mahadev Patgiri has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Sibsagar University, Ganesh Chandra Wary will take charge at Kokrajhar University, Niranjan Roy has been named the Vice Chancellor of Gurucharan University, and Jyoti Prasad Saikia has been named the VC of Jagannath Barooah University. In addition, Dr. Hitesh Deka has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Nagaon University, Mukul Bora will head North Lakhimpur University, and Tarani Chandra Deka has been entrusted with helming Bongaigaon University.
