GUWAHATI: The written examination to recruit 597 Sub Inspectors (Unarmed) for the Assam Police was conducted in 150 centres across the State on Sunday. All the examination centres were under the surveillance of CCTV (closed-circuit television).

'State Level Police Recruitment Board' (SLPRB) sources informed that only after frisking, the candidates – both male and female — were allowed to proceed beyond the main gates of the examination centres. The entire process from the strong rooms — where the question papers were stored — to the examination halls have been captured in CCTVs. Besides, none — including the staff and invigilators besides the candidates – were allowed to take mobile phones into the examination halls.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has congratulated all involved in conducting the examination including the Dibrugarh University, the SLPRB, the respective district and police administrations as well as the staff and invigilators of the different centres.

Mentionably, the earlier examination in this regard was cancelled following leak of question papers on September 20, 2020.
