GUWAHATI: The Government of India has approved a total outlay of Rs 3,712.01 crore for Assam's Annual Work Plan for the financial year 2025-26 under the Samagra Shiksha scheme. The allocation includes a significant spillover component of Rs 1,146.96 crore, which pertains to pending activities from previous years under Elementary Education, Secondary Education, and Teacher Education.
The Project Approval Board (PAB) of the Ministry of Education meeting held recently fixed the outlay for Assam.
This spillover amount has been sanctioned with the condition that all delayed activities must be completed within the current financial year (2025-26). The breakup of the Rs 1,146.96 crore spillover component is Rs 60,130 lakh on the elementary head, Rs 47,746 lakh on the secondary head, and Rs 6,819 on the teacher education head.
