GUWAHATI: Operation Praghat scripted a success on Monday when the STF (Special Task Force), together with Kokrajhar Police, nabbed an active ABT (Ansarullah Bangla Team) and JAM (Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen) member from Kokrajhar.

Operation Praghat is aimed at dismantling fundamentalist networks and Global Terrorist Organizations (GTO) across the country.

Based on precise intelligence inputs, the STF, with assistance from Kokrajhar Police, launched a strategic operation, successfully apprehending key ABT operative Nasim Uddin SK from the Kokrajhar district.

Nasim Uddin was a close associate of the prime accused Nur Islam Mandal, who had been arrested earlier for his involvement in extremist activities in the same case by STF from Kokrajhar.

Since the intervening night of December 17, 2024, the accused had been evading arrest.

Investigations have revealed that the arrested operative was a key conspirator, working closely with Nur Islam Mandal in acquiring weapons and manufacturing IEDs.

Nasim has been under STF remand for seven days now.
