Dispur ropes in NTA to conduct Maths & Science Olympiad-2021

GUWAHATI: Dispur has roped in the NTA (National Testing Agency), New Delhi to conduct the Mathematics and Science Olympiad- 2021 with an aim to enable the students of the State to successfully compete at the national level.

This is for the first time that the NTA will be conducting a State-level examination. Thousands of students will appear for the Mathematics and Science Olympiad-2021 scheduled on March 21, 2021.

An official in the Education department said the NTA's test will help the students to understand various concepts and definitions of Mathematics and Science, work harder, and improve their performance in schools. He also said that the NTA test will give exposure to the students from the rural areas; and eventually help them to successfully compete at the national-level exams.

The 'Axom Sarba Siksha Abhijaan' is organizing the Mathematics and Science Olympiad-2021 in four languages, namely English, Assamese, Bodo and Bengali. Students studying from Class VI to XII can appear in the examination.

The Olympiad is an objective examination to be held block-wise in all the districts of Assam. Nearly 50,000 students are expected to appear in the examination this year.

Another objective of engaging the NTA in conducting the Olympiad is to being about transparency and professionalism in conducting the examinations in the State. The Education department has plans to involve the NTA in conducting more State-level examinations in the future. "
