President’s medal to Guwahati CP Partha Sarathi Mahanta

Guwahati: Assam's 21 officers and personnel belonging to different services were named today for distinguished service, gallantry medals and meritorious service for Independence Day 2025. The awardees belong to the Assam Police, Fire Service and Home Guard & Civil Defence.
The first and foremost honour is the President's Medal For Distinguished Service (PSM) awarded to Partha Sarathi Mahanta, Commissioner of Police, Guwahati.
The Award of Medal for Gallantry (GM) has been bagged by 3 from the police service. They are Gurav Abhijit Dilip, Superintendent of Police; Hemanta Kumar Boro, Sub Divisional Police Officer; and Akhil Ranjan Das, Constable.
13 officers of the Assam Police have been honoured with the Medal For Meritorious Service (MSM)-- Sanjukta Parasor, Inspector General; Vivek Raj Singh, Inspector General; Jayshree Khersa, Commandant; Hridayjit Barman, Superintendent of Police; Numal Mahatta, Superintendent of Police; Debasish Borah, Commandant; Tabu Ram Pegu, Commandant; Nirmal Chandra Biswas, Deputy Superintendent of Police; Lalit Saikia, Inspector; Akhil Kumar Das, Sub Inspector; Dhruba Sarki, Inspector; Shri Nabin Chandra Sharma, Assistant Commandant; and Rabindra Singha, Sub Inspector.
The MSM has also been awarded to three from the Fire & Emergency Services, Assam. They are Ashok Das, Sub Officer; Khagen Chandra Kalita, Leading Fireman; and Tarak Chandra Talukdar, Sub Officer. An MSM also goes to Dr Santanu Roy Chowdhury, Post Warden (Volunteer) from the Home Guard & Civil Defence, Assam.
The awardees will be honoured with their respective awards on the occasion of Independence Day, 2025
