GUWAHATI: The lapses on the part of some of the indolent traffic police personnel, especially those on duty in Guwahati, may cost the State dearly. When there is lockdown, traffic police personnel are active as there is regular supervision. But sometimes at places like the ABC point and below the Ulubari flyover in the city, they are sometimes not to be seen at all or whiling away their time. The need of the hour is regular supervision. During normal times – since there is hardly any supervision – some of them are not even found in places of their duty.
