IIT-G to train up school teachers

GUWAHATI, Oct 13: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) and the Education department of the State today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Guwahati. The agreement was inked in the presence of Education Minister Sarat Borkotoky. As per the MoU, the IIT-Guwahati will impart training to 150 M.Sc teachers of High School and Higher Secondary level this year. From every district, six teachers will be selected for this training. These 150 teachers will include 50 physics teachers, 50 chemistry teachers and 50 mathematics teachers. The training will begin in December, this year. Secretary of the Education department Ramesh Jain, Dean of IITG Prof Anup Kumar Gogoi and Prof Sunil Kajwani were also present during signing of the MoU.
