The ‘Assam Arogya Nidhi’ was formed in 2019 for extending financial assistance to the poor and critical patients lying below the poverty line (BPL).
In the outbreak of coronavirus, any person, business establishment, public or private sector company etc can contribute to this Nidhi and thus help the Assam government to tide over the financial crisis in fighting out the virus. All contributions to this Nidhi are eligible for 100 per cent tax deduction as per Section 80G (1) of the Income Tax Act.
