GUWAHATI, Sept 22: The Kolia Bhomora Bridge toll gate was shut down with effect from 10 am on Thursday following directives by the Central government. The Centre ruled that toll can’t be collected from bridges built under a cost less than Rs 100 crore. The Kolia Bhomora bridge was built at a cost of Rs 80 crore. The Office of the Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping looking into complaints regarding collection of toll from vehicles on the Kolia Bhomora bridge.
