Guwahati, July 18: ‘To err is human’, but this saying has few takers when errors spell doom for students’ lives. Last year, 46 teachers were debarred from evaluating HSLC answer scripts and the figure may go up this year.
As many as 4,412 students applied for the re-evaluation of 7,446 HSLC answer scripts this year. Of them, marks in 932 answer scripts have been changed. This year, 1,78,656 of the 3,72,640 candidates who had taken the HSLC examition came out successful, with a 47.94% success rate.
In AHM, 5,278 of the 10,116 candidates who had taken the examition came out successful, the pass percentage being 52.17. While 77,463 students will sit for the HSLC compartmental examition from 27th July, as many as 1,795 candidates are set to appear in the compartmental examition for AHM. While the number of government/provincialized schools with 100% success rate stands at only 19, the number of such schools with zero per cent success rate is 31 in the HSLC examition this year.
