NCBC chairperson Hansraj Gangaram attends review meet on reservation of OBC

GUWAHATI: The chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) emphasized the systematic implementation of the reservation for the backward classes in the medical colleges of the state. He also suggested that the state government place emphasis on the proper implementation of the same in government medical institutions.

NCBC chairperson Hansraj Gangaram is on an official visit to Guwahati. Secretary Rajeev Ranjan and advisor Rajesh Kumar accompanied him during his Guwahati visit.

Hansraj Gangaram attended a review meeting on the reservation of OBC and welfare measures for them with senior officials from Assam, Manipur, and Sikkim.

Secretary for Social Justice and Empowerment, Biswajit Pegu, spoke about the facilities for OBC in the state and the steps taken for their development under various schemes.

The NCBC chairperson spoke about the need for the implementation of regulations in the government and PSUs for the betterment of the backward classes. He also spoke about the importance of providing loans to people in this category.
