JORHAT, Jan 16: Noted botanist and former scientist of Tocklai Tea Research Centre, Anda Chandra Dutta, passed away in Jorhat at 7pm on Saturday. He was 93. Dutta played a major role in the establishment of a tea museum at Jorhat in 1977. He also prepared a list of 10,000 trees for the Tocklai herbarium. He was awarded Degree of Doctor of Science by Dibrugarh University for his contribution towards the field of science.
