GUWAHATI: Hearing a PIL (Public Interest Ligation) seeking a ban on the sale, manufacturing, and supply of paan masala containing magnesium carbonate as an ingredient, a division bench of Gauhati High Court on Monday directed the State government to file an affidavit and also collect samples of the item. The Court further directed the Government to take action as per the ‘Food & Safety Act’. The bench will hear the case again on March 16.
