GUWAHATI: The CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) has entrusted its IGP, Anil Kumar Bishnoi of Jaipur, with the investigation of the case registered against three Guwahati-based logistic companies, some unknown public servants, and other unknown persons.
The charges against the accused—(i) M/s Vinayak Logistics, MG Road in Guwahati; (ii) M/s Vinayak Logistic India Pvt. Ltd., Fancy Bazar, Guwahati; (iii) Pravesh Kabra, Director, M/s Vinayak Logistics India Pvt. Ltd., Guwahati; (iv) other unknown public servants; and (v) other unknown persons—are that they entered into a criminal conspiracy by abusing their respective official positions, ‘misdeclared’ marble chips as alum power, and allowed their loading and transportation in as many as 20 rakes or part of rakes from Mandalgarh Railway Station (MLGH) in Rajasthan to different destination railway stations in the country from September 2021 to March 2022. This ‘misdeclaration’ of marble chips led to the wrongful loss of Rs. 5,13,89,886 to Indian Railways and the corresponding wrongful gain to the accused persons and parties.
