MANGALDAI: Mangaldai for the first time has witnessed an exceptional conclave attended by a good number of Islamic Moulanas and heads of religious minority communities on a single platform. They took the pledge to strengthen the traditional communal harmony at any cost in society and to stand tough and united against activities of antisocial elements. A total of 600 Moulanas from different corners of the Darrang district took part in the 'Sadbhavana Sansad' organized by Jamiat Ulema E Hind at the District Library Auditorium at Mangaldai on Sunday. The Sansad has been organized by the Darrang District unit of Jamiat as a part of the countrywide organization of the 'Sadbhavana Sansad'. In the Sansad, religious heads of Hinduism, Jain and Buddhism also took part.
The Sansad began with the National Anthem performed by the students of Akamal English School, Kharupetia. While it was inaugurated by Additional General Secretary of State Jamiat Moulana Fazlul Karim Quasimi, Mufti Nasihur Rahman Quasimi accorded a hearty welcome to the guests and the audience.

Bhargab Kumar Das, journalist Madan Chandra Barua, retired lecturer Dr Jamaluddin Ahmed, Vice Chairman of Mangaldai Municipality Board Achyut Das and several others took part in the Sansad. All the speakers laid stress on the maintenance of traditional communal harmony of Assam at any cost. They also opined on creating awareness and campaigns against early child marriages, drugs and other narcotic substances, all superstitious beliefs and rural poverty to make the society a model and ideal society.
