GAON (HAIBORGAON), May 17: At least three persons were injured in a blast at Raha in gaon district on Tuesday evening, two days ahead of the counting of votes for assembly elections.

The blast – suspected to be a grede explosion – took place at 6.45 pm in front of a hardware shop at Raha Chariali. The explosion created a one–feet deep crater in the spot. Three employees of the hardware shop – Ganesh Bhuyan, Padma th and Babul Ali – were injured in the explosion and were rushed to gaon SBP Civil Hospital.

The owner of the shop, Sanjib Khatowalla, said he saw a man lobbed something, but before he would realize anything, the explosion took place.
