Guwahati police arrest thieves, recover stolen phones, scooty and water pump

In a series of successful operations, Guwahati city police teams have arrested several individuals involved in theft cases and recovered stolen items.

Guwahati: In a series of successful operations, Guwahati city police teams have arrested several individuals involved in theft cases and recovered stolen items.

A team from Jalukbari Outpost, apprehended Haldiyal Das (19) of Biswanath Chariali with two stolen mobile phones. During interrogation, Das confessed to stealing the devices from PNGB Road. Legal proceedings have been initiated against him. In another case, a team from Bhagaduttapur Outpost (Dispur PS) arrested Rekibur Rahman (25) of Hajo at a checkpoint. He was found with a stolen scooty and a battery reportedly stolen from Dakhingaon Tiniali. Legal action has been initiated.

Meanwhile, another team from Dispur Police Station arrested Lal Biswas (19) of Bangali Para in connection with a stolen water pump. Based on his confession, the pump was recovered from the Khanapara area.

In a separate operation, a team from Satgaon PS arrested Baltu Ali, alias Sarkat Ali, of Nowapara, who was caught transporting a stolen iron channel in an e-rickshaw (AS25ER3982). The item was stolen from a complainant’s rented home in Nowapara, Satgaon.
