Guwahati: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, who has been at the forefront of relief efforts during the coronavirus pandemic, has again turned messiah in disguise after helping SpiceJet to evacuate 1,500 Indian students from Kyrgystan.

The information was shared by SpiceJet's on Twitter, which asserted that it will be launching 9 such flights, the first of which took off from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.

"It is a historic day! SpiceJet, in association with the real-life hero Sonu Sood, is embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime evacuation operation to reunite 1500 Indian students stranded in Kyrgyzstan, with their families. The first of 9 special flights have taken off from Delhi!" tweeted SpiceJet.

"Feeling so happy that the first flight from Kyrgyzstan to Varanasi took off today. All thanks to@flyspicejet for making my mission successful. The second flight from Kyrgyzstan to Vizag will fly Tom 24th July. Would request students to send your details asap. Jai hind", Sood wrote, expressing his happiness over the development.

SpiceJet has operated over 400 charter flights to repatriate around 65,000 Indians from countries like Oman, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia.
