West Bengal- On Monday, the BJP reported that two of its female polling agents were allegedly gang-raped by TMC goons in the Nanoor assembly constituency. Out of the two victims of gang rape, one has been missing since the incident. The victims worked for BJP candidate Tarakeswar Saha who contested from the Nanoor Vidhan Sabha assembly.

Bengal has become a hotspot for violence ever since the results of the West Bengal election polls were declared. Incidents of murder, arson, destruction of property, assault, and even rape have surfaced from across the state following the Trinamool Congress' landslide victory in the West Bengal Vidhan Sabha polls. BJP workers have mostly been on the receiving end of the violence allegedly perpetrated by TMC hoodlums.

Reports of several female BJP workers allegedly molested across 12 villages that fall in the Nanoor Vidhan Sabha constituency have surfaced.

In another incident, a video surfaced where TMC workers can be seen thrashing female BJP workers in broad daylight in Kendamari village in Nandigram. BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya took to Twitter to share the video of this incident.

TMC leader Derek o' Brien however denied the allegations of gang rape and mass molestation labelling them as 'rumour mongering' and asked the West Bengal police to 'ascertain facts.'

The West Bengal police have denied the gang-rape allegations of the BJP poll agents terming it as 'fake.'

So far, several deaths of BJP workers allegedly committed by TMC goons as well as loot and destruction of property of the BJP workers have been reported.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi contacted Governor Jagdeep Dhankar, the governor of West Bengal to express his "serious anguish and concern" over the "worrisome" law and order situation in the state.

BJP President JP Nadda had called for a nationwide dharna for the ongoing atrocities against BJP workers in Bengal following TMC's electoral victory over their main contender BJP.

"Mamata ji, what your party did after winning, speaks about your belief in democracy. TMC workers & leaders are saying that all these incidents on social media are fake. You've seen how Haran Adhikari's wife & son were crying. I request media to tell truth to the nation," said JP Nadda.

"After the results, TMC goons went to the house of Haran Adhikari (BJP worker), vandalised it, threatened women & children, attacked them, & broke his wife's teeth. They then dragged Adhikari out of his house & beat him up. He died," added Nadda describing the gruesome murder of the BJP worker allegedly carried out by TMC goons.

The TMC on Sunday was declared victorious after sweeping the West Bengal Vidhan Sabha polls with 213 seats compared to BJP's 77 seats.
