A case similar to the Shradha Murder Case has been reported from Karnataka

BANGALORE: Another case of murder and mutilation of the dead body in an attempt to hide it, has come to light from the South Indian state of Karnataka where a 20-year-old murdered his father and attempted to dispose of the body after by chopping it into several pieces.
According to reports, the accused Vithala Kulali allegedly murdered his father Parashuram Kulali with an iron rod. After that, he attempted to dispose of the body in an open borewell located on their own farm in the Bagalkot district of the state. As the body did not fit in the well as it was, he decided to chop it off in several pieces before dumping them into the open borewell.
Reportedly Parashuram Kulali who was 53 years old, used to get drunk quite often and abuse his younger son Vithala Kulali. His wife and elder son were living separately. Something similar happened on December 6, Tuesday. And this led to Vithala Kulali losing his cool and attacking his father with an iron rod in a fit of rage. He then took the body to a borewell on their own farm, which is located near the Mantur Bypass on the outskirts of Mudhol city.
He remained absconding till Saturday, but returned to his family and told them that he had left because he could no longer bear his abusive father.
The truth came out when the police conducted a formal investigation and questioned him regarding the same. He confessed to the crime on Monday and the police had to use earthmovers to dig the site and recover the chopped body parts.
"The accused wanted to dispose of the body after the murder. There was an unused bore-well in the field outside whose width is around eight inches. At first, he tried to dispose of the whole body, but the body got stuck. So he returned home to get an axe and chopped the body into 12-15 pieces with it. He then threw each piece into the well and covered it with soil," said the police statement.
