Assam: Bongaigaon Refinery Wins Best PSU CSR Initiative Award for North East Region

KOKRAJHAR: Bongaigaon Refinery (BGR) of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, situated at Dhaligaon in BTC, has been recognized as the best PSU sector CSR initiative in the North East region of 2022-23. This prestigious accolade of the 2nd North East CSR Award, 2024, was bestowed upon the PSU sector at the North East CSR Forum 2024 (NECSRF) for its exceptional Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Sources from the BGR informed that the award recognized Bongaigaon Refinery’s outstanding contributions to the social and economic development of the North East region. The refinery’s comprehensive CSR programmes have positively impacted the lives of numerous communities, focusing on areas such as education, healthcare, skill development, and social upliftment. The award was presented by Professor Jagannath Ambagudia, Director of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Guwahati, to Amardeep Guria, Senior Manager (CC&CSR), and Sharad Kumar, Assistant Manager (H&CSR) of Bongaigaon Refinery, at the North East CSR Forum 2024 (NECSRF). This prestigious award recognizes the outstanding contributions of Bongaigaon Refinery in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the North East region.

Sources also said the refinery’s commitment to sustainable development and community welfare has been instrumental in improving the lives of people in the region.
