DOOMDOOMA: The Civil Defence Department, Tinsukia, launched a basic training programme at its office recently.
The training was inaugurated by District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) Bikash Sarma in the presence of Chief Warden of the Civil Defence Department, Tinsukia, Dr. Rajiv Bardoloi, and Deputy Controller in charge, Rupanta Sonowal.
In his opening remarks, DIPRO Sarma said that being a civil defence volunteer is a matter of pride for oneself and essential for the community. It is an essential duty of every citizen to work for the country and the society. He said that the training of such volunteers also helps in building realistic knowledge and personality of individuals.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Warden of the Civil Defence Department, Tinsukia Manoranjan Moran; Project Officer, District Disaster Management Department Ruby Gogoi; Information Assistant Vijay Prakash Gogoi; trainers of the Civil Defence Department, Tinsukia Manavjyoti Panging, Bhriguraj Sinha; and others. A total of 35 trainees from different parts of Tinsukia district participated in the 22-day basic training.
