DIBRUGARH: The first day of the 5-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) included a lecture on the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) delivered by Diganta Biswa Sarma at Dibrugarh University. The session aimed to introduce the participants to the core ideas and relevance of IKS in present-day education.
Sarma highlighted the rich and diverse nature of traditional Indian knowledge, covering areas such as science, philosophy, ethics, and education. He emphasized that IKS is not just about the past but can contribute meaningfully to modern academic practices also.
He took into account the contribution of Rishi Aravinda towards IKS and enlightened how it is relevant in today's world. The speaker encouraged educators to integrate IKS into their teaching and research for a more holistic approach to knowledge.
