MARGHERITA: A free health check-up camp was organised on Thursday jointly by the Northeastern Coalfields Coal India Ltd, Margherita and Warriors (NGO), Tinsukia as part of their corporate social responsibility initiative.
The free health camp was held at the Durga Bari Temple, Ledo premises under Margherita Co-District to provide free health check-ups and medicines to over a hundred patients. The free health check-ups were conducted by a team of doctors from NEC CIL Margherita including Dr Sanjib Sonowal, Dr Manab B Gogoi, Dr Dibya Singh, Dr Tul Tul K Sangma, and Dr Manisha Upadhyay from Ketetong mobile unit tuberculosis screening test.
The free health check-up camp was part of the Prime Minister’s Tuberculosis Eradication Programme where tuberculosis, diabetes, and other diseases were detected and free medicines were provided accordingly.
Dr Divya Singh Borthakur, noted ophthalmologist and Medical officer of NEC CIL Margherita, said that under the corporate social responsibility of NEC CIL Margherita, a free health check-up camp was held at Ledo Durga Bari Puja Temple premises where more than 100 people attended and different types of tests were conducted and free medicines provided. Dr Borthakur added that it will continue for a year. The camp was a huge success, with over a hundred people benefiting from the free health services.
