SIVASAGAR: Suresh Bora, a resident of Nakatani village near Gaurisagar in Sivasagar district, passed away on Sunday evening due to complications related to high blood pressure.
Bora, a retired head teacher of 384 No. Mitong Nakatani LP School and a recipient of the Best Teacher Award, also served in various capacities including Vice President of the Sivasagar District Xahitya Xabha, President of Gaurisagar Branch Xahitya Xabha, District president of Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilan, State member and District secretary of the Assam Education Sanmilan and president-secretary of Gaurisagar Central Public Hall.
Bora’s sudden death has left his family, relatives, and well-wishers in deep sorrow. Beyond his teaching career, Bora was deeply involved in the social life of Gaurisagar and made significant contributions to the state’s educational and cultural fields. He was also known as an accomplished actor.
His last rites were performed at Nakatani village on Monday. Bora is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
