Assam: Panchayat Polls Phase I Concludes Peacefully in Naduar LAC

JAMUGURIHAT: The first phase of the Panchayat Election 2025 for two wards in Naduar LAC concluded peacefully on Friday. The two wards are No. 1 Batomari ward of Paschim Mudadol GP and No. 1 Borpathar ward under Dakhin Mudadol GP.

For No. 1 Batomari ward, Samra Munda, BJP-supported candidate and George Guriya, Congress-supported candidate offered candidature. For No. 1 Barpathar ward, Anima Barua and Pinki Saikia contested. Out of 955 voters, 601 votes were polled for No. 1 Batomari ward while 559 votes were polled out of 822 at No. 1 Barpathar ward. The poll process was peaceful.

It is to be mentioned here that a total of 4 ZPC members and 19 AP members won uncontested. On the other hand, out of 190 wards 188 ward members were declared uncontested. This time, the poll was held for only two wards.
