BOKAKHAT: In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, teaching in the Mising mother tongue has commenced today in 200 selected lower primary schools across 11 districts of Assam for the new academic year. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Assam Government has introduced a significant addition to the history of school education by implementing Mising language instruction in 200 lower primary schools, including nine schools in the Golaghat district.

This initiative has sparked immense enthusiasm among the Mising community in Golaghat. With the efforts of six Mising national organizations and the support of the local people, both the interior and exterior environments of the nine selected schools have been beautifully decorated in preparation for Mising language being inducted as a medium of instruction.
