Assam: Three-day Rabindra and Padabali Nritya workshop concludes in Dhubri

For the first time in Dhubri, Nrityangan organized a three-day Rabindra and Padabali Nritya workshop from January 3, which concluded with demonstration by the artistes on Sunday night.

DHUBRI: For the first time in Dhubri, Nrityangan organized a three-day Rabindra and Padabali Nritya workshop from January 3,  which concluded with demonstration by the artistes on Sunday night. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Anuradha Roy, a renowned Bharatanatyam artiste and grade artiste of Doordarshan along with co-trainers Shayashree Mandal and Master Arnesh Biswas. The workshop was attended by 80 dance artistes including 10 financially weak students who received free training.

The participants were trained in Rabindra Nritya and Padabali Nritya and the workshop concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony.

Nrityangan, a prominent cultural and social group in Dhubri, has been actively involved in promoting Indian art and culture among the youth. Some of their notable initiatives include organizing Basanta Utsav, celebrating International Women’s Day, Mother’s Day and carrying various other social activities for last many years. Talking to The Sentinel, founder of Nrityangan Dipankar Majumdar informed that the organisation was going to organize a Hasya Kabi Sammelan (a humor poetry conference) on January 18, featuring renowned humour poet Surendra Sharma as the chief guest.
