BISWANATH CHARIALI: The police arrested three smugglers with illegal drugs in Biswanath last evening. Acting on a tip-off, a special police team followed a car from Chatia bearing number AS12L6801 with three persons inside and managed to stop it on the BG Road near Chariali HS and MP School. The car was reportedly coming from Khanamukh, Sonitpur.
After searching the car, police recovered suspected heroin weighing 17 grams kept in 13 containers and three syringes. The contraband was suspected to be meant for being handed over to someone here. The arrested smugglers were identified as Dipankar Borah, Rupantar Borah, and Arindam Handique. The police are investigating the matter.
