DIBRUGARH: Two women have embarked on an ambitious journey on a tandem bicycle from Kibithu in Arunachal Pradesh to Koteshwar in Gujarat, covering an approximate distance of 4,000 km in a bid to set a Guinness World Record.

The duo, Dr Meera Valankar, a Scientist, and Dr Manisha Waghmare, an Ophthalmologist, were ceremonially flagged off by personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) from Kibithu, the easternmost road-connected village of India, on May 15.

As a part of their cross-country expedition, the cyclists are set to traverse through seven Indian states. On Monday, they pedalled through Dibrugarh, the tea capital of India, marking a significant milestone in their journey.
