JAMUGURIHAT: Awareness programme on wildlife protection organized by Aaranyak and Upatyaka, environment-friendly NGOs, were held at Laletapu, on the western part of Jamugurihat and Makuwa Chapori under Borghat police station on Sunday.
The awareness camps were organized in the adjoining areas of the sixth and ninth additions of Kaziranga National Park (KNP). The awareness camp was held in the Kachamari LP School premises at Laletapu under Jamuguri PS. Project Officer of Aaranyak presented a documentary and provided basic training on how to save and provide shelter to the flood-affected wild animals.
Soidur Rahman, managing director of Upatyaka, conducted the proceedings which was attended by Jatindra Mohan Das, crime investigation officer of Biswanath Wildlife, Debajit Saikia, Range Officer, Nagsankar range besides other dignitaries. Similarly, the second awareness camp was held at Makuwa Chapori under Borghat police station, Napam. Both the areas are located in the riverine area where wild animals from the sixth and ninth additions of KNP under Northern Range frequently visit.
