Golden jubilee celebration of 'Doomdooma Rajahuwa Rongali Bihu Sammelan' cancelled

DOOMDOOMA: In the wake of further spike in COVID-19 cases in Tinsukia district, the golden jubilee celebration committee of the 'Doomdooma Rajahuwa Rongali Bihu Sammelan' has cancelled most of its programmes.

The decision to this effect was taken in an emergency meeting of the steering committee of the golden jubilee celebration on Tuesday.

The functions were scheduled to be held on May 6, May 7, May 8 and May 9.

However, the Bihu committee has decided to confine the celebration of Rongali Bihu to just the ceremonies of hoisting the Bihu flag and offering of 'smriti tarpan' at the Doomdooma Town Field on April 25.
