Assam Rifles conducts lecture on Army recruitment in Mizoram

AIZAWL: The Lunglei Battalion of Headquarter 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), recently conducted a lectureon 'How to join Indian Army/Assam Rifles' at Zorinpui village of Mizoram, stated a press release.

A total of 35 local residents attended the lecture.

The aim of lecture was to brief the youth about the role of Indian Army and Assam Rifles.

The youths were briefed on qualification requirement physical fitness and written tests to clear their doubts. The selection procedure, from online registration to medical examination of selected candidates, was briefed in detail. The facilities provided by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles to the soldiers and their dependents were also included in the discussion with the youths.

While interacting with the youth, it was observed that many of them are keen to join forces but due to lack of knowledge about the eligibility and means to apply for entrance examination, they are not able to utilize the opportunity. The parents of the youth and locals expressed their gratitude for the efforts being taken by Assam Rifles in building the future of their children.

The Lunglei Battalion also conducted a lecture on Mental Health at Lungbun village in the Siaha district of Mizoram recently.

The aim of the drive was to raise awareness of mental health issues among the local residents and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. Apart from Mental Health, basic knowledge on health education, including precaution from common viral diseases like malaria, was also imparted during the programme. Emphasis was laid on the importance of hygiene and sanitation was explained to the villagers for better and healthy living standard. The local residents have expressed their gratitude towards the battalion and appreciated the efforts made by Assam Rifles for a noble cause of society. A total of 39 local residents attended the lecture.

The Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles also carried out a cleanliness drive and awareness programme at Champhai town on Wednesday to promote the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

During the event, the special emphasis was laid on cleaning the area surrounding the town and spreading awareness among the local populace about personal and public hygiene. The local residents of Champhai expressed their gratitude for the initiative taken by the Assam Rifles.
