Assam Rifles recover local liquor & beer in Mizoram

In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, the Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), recovered 10 cases of beer and 140 packets of illegal local liquor in the general area of Zokhawthar in Mizoram on January 25.

AIZAWL: In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, the Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), recovered 10 cases of beer and 140 packets of illegal local liquor in the general area of Zokhawthar in Mizoram on January 25.

Based on specific information, the operation was carried out by a team of Assam Rifles, Excise and Narcotics department of Champhai District.

The approximate value of the recovered liquor and beer is Rs 1,18,000. The Excise & Narcotics Department, Champhai District have seized the contraband items, stated a release.
