Assam Police Activates Helpline Numbers for People Stranded in Meghalaya

Assam Police have requested callers to provide information such as the person’s name, contact number, vehicle registration number, present location and any other available details to facilitate timely assistance and coordination

Guwahati: The Assam Government, through Assam Police, has activated dedicated helpline numbers to assist people from the state who may be stranded in Meghalaya or facing difficulties while travelling there amid the prevailing situation.

As per a press release issued by Assam Police, family members, relatives and members of the public with information about individuals or vehicles stranded in Meghalaya can share relevant details through the helplines.

Assam Police have requested callers to provide information such as the person’s name, contact number, vehicle registration number, present location and any other available details to facilitate timely assistance and coordination.

The information received will be taken up with the concerned authorities in Meghalaya, including the local administration and police, for necessary action and assistance. The Assam Government and Assam Police are maintaining close coordination with the authorities in Meghalaya and have assured all possible support to those requiring assistance.

Assam Police has also urged members of the public to remain calm and share only verified information to ensure effective and timely coordination.

The helpline initiative comes amid concerns over the movement and safety of people from Assam in Meghalaya.
