Guwahati: Bollywood actor Bhumi Pednekar has visited flood-hit Assam to support relief and rehabilitation efforts, becoming the latest celebrity to extend assistance to those affected by the devastating floods.

On 6th August , Pednekar travelled to Sivasagar, where she met flood-affected families, interacted with volunteers and helped distribute essential relief supplies in collaboration with the Bharat Disaster Relief Foundation.

Sharing glimpses of her visit on Instagram, the actor wrote, "Every flooded village reminds us that recovery doesn't begin when the rain stops, it begins when help arrives." Earlier, on  25th July , she had appealed to people across the country to contribute towards relief efforts, highlighting the urgent need for food, mattresses, sanitation supplies and other essential items.

Pednekar's visit follows actor Randeep Hooda's recent relief work in Sivasagar, where he partnered with Global Sikhs to distribute food, organise community meals and meet families staying in relief camps.

Several other celebrities, including Kartik Aaryan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Tahira Kashyap, Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan's Being Human Foundation and Anupam Kher, have also supported the flood relief efforts through donations, awareness campaigns and public appeals.

As per official figures, Assam's floods have claimed 97 lives, while more than 1.68 lakh people remain affected across the state. Relief and rehabilitation operations are continuing in the worst-hit districts.
