Guwahati: A customer allegedly found a cockroach in a plate of biryani served at Zaika Restaurant in the Bhetapara area of Guwahati, following which he reportedly fell ill and required medical treatment.
As per initial report, the customer, identified as Tinku Das, was having biryani at the restaurant when he allegedly discovered a cockroach in the food. Das reportedly fell ill after consuming the meal and was subsequently provided medical treatment.
The incident drew attention after the matter was reported, prompting a team from Hatigaon Police Station to visit the restaurant and investigate the circumstances surrounding the complaint.
The visuals have raised concerns over food safety and hygiene standards at the establishment. The incident has also sparked concerns among customers regarding the maintenance of cleanliness and food safety at restaurants.
