Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has sharply criticized the Tipra Motha party, and accuse it of misleading the public with slogans like “Thansa”, “Greater Tipraland” and “Puila Jati” ahead of the TTAADC elections.
“They mislead people with lies. This time, if the Bharatiya Janata Party forms the government in the ADC, the janajati will see real development,” Saha said while addressing a gathering at Kunjaram Para in the Natunbazar-Malbasa constituency on Thursday.
At the event, the Chief Minister welcomed 700 voters from 203 families who joined the BJP, highlighting the party’s commitment to progress in the region.
Saha also for a long time, they thought they could control the ADC and dictate terms.
“We tried to work with them, but they changed their stance repeatedly. They are trying to control the ADC like communists, but we have decided to move forward on our own.”
Addressing claims about Village Council elections, Saha noted that Tipra Motha had been creating confusion by alleging that the BJP blocked the polls, while the party has always been ready to conduct them.
The Chief Minister further criticized Tipra Motha’s use of divisive slogans and said that they even involve minorities and Bengalis in their narratives, without clarity or direction.
Saha also highlighted mismanagement of ADC funds, pointing out that the funds allocated for development have been misused. Drawing a parallel with West Bengal politics, Saha said Tipra Motha has been intimidating people and undermining democratic processes.
Later, he urged the youth of Tipra Motha to join the BJP and contribute to genuine development in the state.
