Silchar: The Assam Rifles has apprehended two drug peddlers and seized narcotics worth around Rs 7 crore in Assam’s Cachar district.
As per Assam Rifles, the drugs were seized during a joint operation with Cachar Police on March 31.
The operation was carried out in the Bhaskhandi area, where a Bolero vehicle was intercepted, leading to the recovery of the contraband.
"Assam Rifles launched a joint operation with #CacharPolice in general area Bhaskhandi, Cachar District on 31 March 2026. During the operation, a Bolero vehicle was intercepted leading to recovery of narcotics valued at approximately ₹7 crores two drug peddlers was apprehended," Assam Rifles wrote on X.
The security force also seized two mobile phones which allegedly used in the illegal activity.
The apprehended individuals along with the seized items have been handed over to Cachar Police for further investigation.
