Hailakandi: 77 non-ACS officers have been appointed as executive magistrate within the local limit of their jurisdiction for the ensuing panchayat election in Hailakandi district slated for December 9.
In an order issued to this effect by Personnel (A) Department, Government of Assam, the powers of executive magistrate have been conferred on the 77 non-ACS officers detailed as zonal and sector officers till the completion of the election process. This has been done for smooth and hassle-free conduct of the election to 11 ZPMs, 62 APMs, 62 GPPs and 620 GPMs in the district. Hailakandi district has a total electorate of 3,87,132.
